My primary teacher explained me once that there is a difference between my home and Switzerland because I worte in a text after my holidays in Kosovo that I felt homesick for Switzerland. I didn`t understand her and I still dont understand her.
You can recognize it very well, because people like me are often torn between friends and family. A typical difficult moment for me is when I`m spending my holidays in Kosovo and the people there say to me:" Oh, our Swiss boy arrived. ", unfortunately in the eyes of some people around me in Switzerland I`m counted as a foreigner too. This is one of many cons if you have two homes. However my closest friends know me as a bicultural boy. On the other hand you should make your personal decisions about your identity on the way to get adult. Firstly it`s always difficult to know how you should deal with this situation because you have to be every time prepared for racist criticism or worst cases you get bad statements from your friends or relatives. . .Secondly it`s last but not least just your own decision how you handle with these internal conflicts.
If you have really good friends you can profit from the biggest pros in this situation. You can discuss it, that`s like sharing your sadness. You will also see that you are not alone with these thoughts if people talk with you or just listen patiently. I try to be someone who makes a "spagat" between the two cultures to represent both of them at the same time. An example therefor is that I grew up bilingually.
With forteen I wrote my first book it`s caled "puzzle of two images". Some teachers were allowed to read my book, inter alia my Albanian teacher and he said to me that home is not the place where you know the trees, home is the place where the trees know you.
I didn`t understand him but I understand him now.

Why the hell didn't you translate your (argumentative) essay?

Wenn du möchtest,dass mehr Personen ihre Meinung zu deinem Thema kundtun,musst du deine Arbeit wohl oder übel übersetzen.


Ich persönlich fand deinen Aufsatz gut und verstehe dich in vielen Punkten,aber v.a. der Satz deines Lehrers hat es wirklich in sich.
Und es freut mich übrigens,dass du dich deiner Heimat nun anscheindend verbundener als damals fühlst


Ich musste in meiner letzten Englischklausur einen Aufsatz über die Vor-und Nachteile einer multikulturellen Gesellschaft schreiben.

Klar, kann ich dir diesen Teil meiner Klausur schicken, nur musst du am weekend damit rechnen, da ich momentan (schulisch) sehr viel zu tun habe.

Hmm ich finde deinen Aufsatz vom Ansatz her gelungen. Du hast wesentliche Punkte ergriffen, aber nicht völlig ausgeschöpft. Also das was du da stehen hast, ist mehr ein Leitfaden mit ein paar Argumenten die jedoch nicht ganz ausgearbeitet wurden. Außerdem springst du ein bisschen von einem Argument zum anderen. Nimm lieber ein Argument und rede darüber. Dann geh erst zum nächsten. Zum Beispiel "This is one of many cons if you have two homes. However my closest friends know me as a bicultural boy. On the other hand you should make your personal decisions about your identity on the way to get adult."

Aber du weißt sicherlich was ich meine.
