@daylight

Ich pack dich und trag dich weg

Was allerdings dein Glück wäre. Wäre meine Schwiema schneller, so würde mit dem Schlappen nach dir geschmissen werden

Oder noch schlimmer... mein Schwiepa würde mit dem Spaten kommen. :D

Hallo, this is my firs post...
1. I was in Albanian Alps and on Korabi. In my opinion Albanian Alps (Bjeshket e Namuna) are very beautiful mountains, quiet, safe, nature.... no signed trails, no restriction, no tourist, people with natural behaviour (not commercial), no hotels, only mountains, unpaved road, natur and we :-).
I think there are the last mountains in Europe in such "natural condition..."
So, this year I'll be in Albanian Alps again, and I'm looking for map 1:25.000 of Albania.
I have old russian map of Albania (1:50.000) and old Yugoslavian map of Prokletije (1:50.000). I have one map of Jezerce (scale of 1:25.000) and this is very good map - so I'm looking maps of another part of Albanian Alps and south part of Albania (Cuka Partizan -Tommori, Ostrovica etc.)
Anybody can help me - have you got this maps?
2. Is there anybody who live near Albanian Alps (Shkodra, Koplik, Bajram Curri)? I wonder what weather condition are there in Albanian Alps in May. I think - normally in May there are a lot of snow, but this winter was very soft (little-snow), so maybe beginning of May will be good for my first trip to Albanian Alps....

Welcome at the forum! I know somebody who was able to buy maps 1:25'000 by the National Map Department in Tirana. But as this department is run by the Military Ministery and maps are still something like a national secret in Albania, you have to find good reasons to get them.

I found the following address - not sure if it is up to date:
Instituti Topografik të Ushtrisë (ITU)
Rruga Myslym Keta, Tiranë
Tel: +355 42 33427

Sorry, can't tell you anything about the weather.
I'll also go to the Alps this year - but not in May.

Thank you for adress and phone. But I can't speak albanian language, maybe I'll call to albanian embassy in Warsaw....

May is my first plan, but it depends from weather conditions. I found interesting photo on flickr. This foto was taken on January 2007. Last winter there are not so much snow (only on the top of the mountains), so I hope in may there will be good "snow condition" too....
I will be in Albanian Alps in July too :-), then we plans to go on south of Albania (Cuka Partizan and riviera)...

Thanks - I got them all in Albanian. I don't mind Russian, but the Russian maps aren't really up to date.

Nice pic. But I don't think it was taken in January 2007. It was uploaded in January 2007. Can be some days or some months old (he only says, it was taken on a recent trip)

In Bjeskhet a Nemuna I'm using only old russian and old jugoslavian maps. Because I can't get any newest...
So if you have some new maps (albanian) in good scale (even 1:50.000 will be good if this maps are up to date) maybe you can scan some of this maps? If it is not possible tell me when can I buy this maps?

Exactly - on the flickr he only says "it was taken on a recent trip" but in his e-mail to me author of this photo wrote me that he was taken this foto in begining of January near Bajram Curri, so I must belive him :-)
